If I could give bonus stars, I would! My husband and I pulled up at 6 pm not realizing the store closes at 6. We were walking back to our vehicle when the manager opened the door and asked if we had something specific we were looking for. And he was smiling! My husband didn’t want to impose, but the manager convinced him he didn’t mind at all. He was willing to delay closing at the end of what was probably a long day. He didn’t have to do this. We didn’t knock on the door and weren’t upset. We didn’t see him or look in the windows before turning to leave. He simply saw us and his instinct was to do something kind even if it interfered with his plans. He was so gracious - and ten minutes later my husband left with new golf shoes and a few extra trinkets the manager tossed in (I don’t golf so I don’t know what they were). What made this extra special is it was my husband’s birthday and this was my birthday present to him. I would have felt awful had my plan fallen through. As a small healthcare practice owner who has been dealing with the collapse of the customer service industry since Covid and the stunning degree of narcissism, entitlement, and unprofessionalism spreading like a disease in younger generations, this experience was a much needed surprise.
